First introduced in the 1970s the F-15 quickly established itself as one of the most dominant fighter aircraft in the world with an unparalleled combat record of over 100 aerial victories and zero losses in air-to-air combat. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney F100 engines it can reach speeds over Mach 2.5 and features a powerful AN/APG radar system enabling it to detect track and engage enemy aircraft at long ranges. The F-15’s design emphasizes speed agility and firepower carrying a mix of air-to-air missiles and a 20mm cannon. Variants like the F-15E Strike Eagle have added ground-attack capabilities increasing its versatility. Still in active service and continually upgraded the F-15 remains a vital component of the U.S. and allied air forces worldwide.
