First launched in 1995, the Severn class lifeboat is the RNLI’s largest vessel. Designed for all-weather conditions, it excels in challenging sea states and is particularly effective for extended offshore missions. In emergencies at sea, every second counts.

Capable of reaching speeds up to 25 knots and with a range of 250 nautical miles, the Severn class lifeboat can swiftly reach those in need, whether in calm or turbulent waters. It is equipped with a small powered Y boat, perfect for rescues near rocks and in shallow areas, which can be deployed using the Severn’s built-in crane.
