Item Description Bachmann Trains BNSF EMD GP40 Locomotive N Scale #3013. EMD GP40 – BNSF #3013 – N SCALE. The GP40 was considered the top of EMD’S four-axle line when first introduced in the late 1960s. It visually differed from earlier GP models, featuring three radiator fans on its long hood, but was otherwise similar in style to the GP38, which entered production around the same time. The locomotive was popular for its ease of maintenance and standardized features and remained in production until succeeded by the GP40-2 in the early 1970s. Today, many remain in service hauling local freights and performing yard duties. The Bachmann N Scale GP40 features realistic, prototypical detail, and comes with factory-installed Soundtraxx Econami DCC and sound. Features include: Econami DCC for digital control of speed, direction, lights, and sound operating headlights 8-wheel drive precision motor die-cast chassis fine-scale handrails blackened metal wheels RP25 wheel contours E-Z Mate Mark II couplers Bachmann Trains has been a leading manufacturer of model trains for over 180 years.
